Monday already?!

The weekends go by far too fast which bums me out. Lately the weekends have been so jam packed with the hustle and bustle of preparing for Baby. I am really trying to push through it because the sooner I get it done the sooner I can spend the next 5 weeks 6 days in peace!

Friday:

I got out of work a little early and Mike and I immediately left the house to go out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Bonefish in Novi. I got their Bang Bang shrimp and a bowl of their Corn and Crab chowder. So delish! We also tried their Chocolate Creme Brule - it was SO rich we couldnt finish it. After dinner we headed over to the theatre and saw The Vow. It was your typical sappy love story but let me tell you, it was SO fun to stare at Channing Tatum for the duration of the movie. After the movie we stepped outside to a full on blizzard! And I was still wearing my flats, FASHION FAIL! We drove 35 mph the whole ride home. Scary!

Saturday:

Saturday morning we slept in which was so wonderful. We lounged in bed reading, playing on our phones, cuddling. It was perfect. After lounging we grabbed a big bowl of cereal and played pinball on the xbox 360. Around 11:30 two of my co-workers came by so we could head out to the volunteering event we signed up for. It was for the Junior Achievement Jackson school district. We all raised money and bowled. I couldnt actually bowl since I am preggers but I had a lot of fun watching the fun. It was a crazy bowl meaning the first game was normal bowling and the second game was the crazy bowl where they team had to do a bunch of crazy things like get on all fours and toss their ball down using the palm of their hand or do a zumba line down. It was cute. After the event, we headed back home and I immedietly headed over to my parents house since I the bedding I picked out for baby v's room came in. I hung out there for a couple hours and headed home - LONG DAY!

Sunday:

Sunday was for getting things in order. I spent the day cleaning the house, washing and folding all of the babys clothes, doing our own laundry - 3 loads worth! Took a little nap, Mike put together the swing, we made dinner - baked chicken drumsticks and rice pilaf. As we were sitting down having dinner we hear a knock at the door. And since I am not a fan of strangers I was like we are NOT opening the door. But the knocking kept coming and so did the door bell. Finally Mike was like I'm just going to answer it! It was my in-laws! They dropped by since they were in the area to drop off a baby gift that was sent to their house and our valentines day cards/treats. We sat with them for about an hour - it was really nice! Afterwards I finished cleaning, putting away dishes, and folding more laundry until I collapsed on the couch.

It was such a fun and productive weekend. Glad I am still feeling well enough (energy wise) to get things accomplished. I am already feeling sluggish and not moving as fast. To be expected for 34 weeks, right?! This week is going to be busy at work so I am going to buckle down.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Slowing Down....

This weekend has been perfection! I really needed a long weekend to get things done yet slow down and enjoy being still. This weekend was a perfect combination of the two.

Thursday:
We woke up and got ready for the day, I had to drop off a couple bowls of cranberry's for my aunt's dinner that I was tasked to make even though our plans changed and we weren't going to be there for the actual dinner only dessert. So Mike and I packed up our dishes, luca's birthday present and Mimi. We dropped off the dishes at my parents had some quick lunch there and headed off to Mike's parents. We got there around 2ish. The house smelled wonderful and my mother in law had lots of yummy snacks to eat before dinner. There was so much food! We literally gorged ourselves. With tons of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, rolls, and more we were definitely in store for a food coma. Shortly after dinner we packed up and headed over to my Aunt and Uncles for dessert and my cousin Luca's birthday. We had dessert and hung out played games - it was wonderful. We got home around 10 and passed out. Even Mimi was pooped.

Friday:
We slept in and lounged in bed for most of the morning. I decided to be productive and cleaned up the house, I get anxious if the house is in shambles for too long. So I scrubbed the floors, vacuumed, dusted, folded laundry, and cleaned the counters. Afterwards, Mike and I decided to go see The Muppets movie with Jason Segel and Amy Adams and let me just tell you it was adorable! We loved it :) Afterwards we stopped by his parents for some leftovers and promptly came home to crash.

Saturday:
Slept in again...amazing. Had some more leftovers. Did some laundry. Then got ready to head over to my parents... Mike was having a game day at our house so I wanted to give them their space so I headed over to keep my Mom company since a.) she wasn't feeling well and b.) my dad went to the MI vs. OH game (we won!) so we watched a freaky ass movie called Melancholia about a planet that was supposed to collide with Earth. It was SO bizarre. I don't even know how to even explain the weirdness that was this movie. Just Google it and decide for yourself. We had more leftovers, made cookies and talked away most of the night.

Sunday:
We had brunch with my sister in law/brother in laws/nephew. Bagels/fruit/bacon/cinnamon rolls/ and juice. A la carte (very nice) afterwards Mike and I went grocery shopping... we needed it SO BAD, we literally had nothing. Afterwards, Jenn and I went up to Homegoods to peruse the aisles. I ended up picking up a new Christmas centerpiece for our table, and some Christmas cards. And here I am... lounging in my sweats in my living room which is by our beautiful Christmas tree. I plan on sitting here for the rest of the day catching up on blog reading and emails.

Tomorrow begins a new work week which I am not too excited about but am grateful that I have. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Talk soon!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was jammed packed with fun activities... I have a love hate relationship for summer weekends like these, but I had fun so that's all that matters, right?

Friday:
- Homemade pizza's on the grill
- Drop Dead Diva Marathon
- Got to bed early

Saturday:
- Went to Bennihana's for lunch with some good company
- Had some delicious ice cream from Coldstone
- Saw my cousin perform his hip hop routine on stage, he's growing up so fast!
- Had scrumptious organic arugula pizza with homemade red sangria

Sunday:
- Had breakfast with the usual's :)
- Photographed my first official wedding - supa scared but worth it
- Had a season premier party at my sister/brother in laws for True Blood full of delicious food, and great company.

This weekend I could feel myself getting sick, and this morning I woke up feeling sicker than ever. Heavy chest, left ear plugged and hurting, sniffles, stuffy, eyes watering... ugh! I headed over to the minute clinic and was diagnosed with an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection and was prescribed some med's to stay on for the next 10 days. Yucky!

Here's to hoping I feel better soon! Have a great week everyone!

Weekend Scenes

Friday I went out with the hubby and some family to celebrate my fabulous news. Which I will get to this week. We went to Red Lobster for a ridiculously huge meal. Afterwards my bro in law came back to the house with us and we Karaoked it up with a few drinks.

On Saturday I woke up and Skyped with my Aunt in England for an hour or so. Afterwards got ready and headed to Downtown Birmingham with my parents. We went to Panera for lunch, Starbucks for a coffee and of course people watching. Afterwards we went to see Blue Valentine - not a big fan to be honest. After the movie we went to Le Petit Prince bakery and picked up a few little treats

Sunday Mike and I celebrated Valentines Day with each other by hanging out, watching movies, ordered out favorite pizza, and vegged out. It was great. Mimi enjoyed hanging out with us as well all day. She is too cute.

How was your weekend?

The Weekend That Wasn't

99.9% of the time I have all the good intentions of the world. I make lists, I plan, I think about things - a lot... I would say I am a very introspective person. However, sometimes, life happens.... and I dont mean in the BIG altering kind of way. I mean life in the every day sense happens. I had plans this weekend. I planned on getting out of the house, I planned on having some good meals, and seeing good movies, and getting shit done. You know everyday house stuff - Laundry, dishes, dusting. I was going to have a fun yet productive weekend. Well, it was an epic fail.

Friday however, was a good day (but hardly consider it my weekend since I had to work). I got some good news, I got things done at work and I sold out Tank less Water Heater through craigslist and made the swap in a parking lot. I went out to dinner with my Husband and brother law and later went over to my sister in laws for a girls night where I stayed out till 1am. It was a good day, yes.

Saturday I planned on having a hearty breakfast, a lazy morning then use my prize loot with Mike. Well around 2pm the snow started falling. I heard we were supposed to get some snow but it was coming down - hard. As I saw how quickly the snow was accumulating, I told Mike we should go to the store now to get our Super Bowl food since I new it would be difficult later or even Sunday. Once we got out on the roads - it was terrible. Like white knuckle, sweat beading, lip biting terrible. By the time we got to the store - my nerves were shot. And I quickly came to the realization we were not going to be able to go out for our little adventure. Sad face. Instead we stayed in - which isn't so bad considering how much of a home body I am. But I ate like shit that night and just felt yucky from being so stressed and eating crappy and not really moving. On top of that I pretty much slept my Saturday away... talk about unmotivational!

Sunday I woke up and looked outside and realized we no longer could go through this winter or future winters without a snow blower - our $10.00 shovel just wasnt cutting it with our mile long driveway (exaggeration but still) Luckily with our unplanned money we got from the craigslist swap we were going to put that toward the snow blower which we will hopefully get today. So throughout the day I felt in a funk - couldn't get out of it. I even tried to make some Chocolate Chip Cookies to brighten me up - no luck. So with my best effort I got ready and headed over to my in-laws where they had a great spread of food (as usual) and enjoyed watching my nephew run around with Mimi not far behind. The game was great and the commercials were hilarious. These two were my favorite

Mike and I left early because of the weather and because we had a 5am wake up call (which ill never ever ever get use too) by the time we pulled into our sub we got stuck rounding a corner and inevitably got stuck in our own driveway (awesome)By the time I got it inched up enough I wanted to cry. Maybe it is the Winter Blues, or the fact that I didn't live up to my potential this weekend... whatever the case may be - It just wasnt what I wanted or needed it to be.

But I am going to make this week a good one. I am going to be productive by doing the following:

1.) Going to my Weekly Zumba class on Monday
2.) Keep up with my God-forsaken-Laudnry
3.) Read my book for the month of February
4.) Take more pictures
5.) Start writing out what i'm grateful for
6.) Put healthy things in my body
7.) Laugh more
8.) Not let stupid people get under my skin
9.) Do things for me and FORGET the haters
10.) Smile

Was your weekend what you wanted and needed it to be?
